Arvato rolls out the "Audi VR experience" on international scale

Gütersloh – As a rollout partner for Audi's digital retail concept, Arvato SCM Solutions has successfully launched the "Audi VR experience" at select car dealerships in Germany, Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Great Britain, Spain and Canada. Other countries are to follow suit. Arvato is handling both the physical and digital supply chain management, with services ranging from purchasing, warehousing and distribution of virtual reality glasses to key-user training courses, IT operation and support.

The "Audi VR experience” brings a fully functional virtual reality application for customer service in car dealerships to market. This means that car buyers can experience any vehicle model configured according to their wishes in virtually real 3D during the sales talk – including lighting and sound effects that impressively round off the visual experience. Each vehicle in the entire range can be fully configured with the "Audi VR experience".

The virtual reality application is part of the digital retail concept for Audi's retail partners, which aims to expand the strengths of brick-and-mortar retailing with innovative technologies. All hardware modules will be rolled out by the Corporate Information Management division of Arvato SCM Solutions. As part of the comprehensive digitization campaign, a total of around 700 dealer modules were distributed by the end of 2017, roughly 200 of which went to Germany.
