From customer service agent to logistics coordinator
Bruno Cizza works as a logistics coordinator at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in Italy. In this role, the 52-year-old family man is responsible for the coordination of logistics activities in the 10,000 m² warehouse in the Bergamo area.
Before Bruno started his career at Arvato in 2001 in customer service for one of the then largest teams in Herzebrock-Clarholz in Germany, he worked in the manufacturing industry.
Bruno's decision to join Arvato Supply Chain Solutions in 2001 was an easy one: "I would make the step towards Arvato Supply Chain Solutions again anytime," he explains. For the 52-year-old, who is also very active in his free time and regularly plays soccer, the constantly emerging challenges at Arvato are particularly interesting.
In 2004, he was given the opportunity to support the implementation of a new Arvato site as head of order preparation for one of the largest petroleum companies.
Then, he took on his current role as Logistics Coordinator in 2007.
New challenges every day
Bruno does not have a typical working day. Every day brings new challenges and tasks, for which the 52-year-old is always enthusiastic. However, there are also regular tasks that have to be managed every day. These include, above all, staff scheduling to ensure that the volumes to be handled are optimally covered and that the orders are completed at the end of the day. He is also responsible for ensuring that his colleagues and their teams have all the information they need.
But there are also more specific tasks, for example when IT problems arise or customers make direct enquiries to him. Then he has to react quickly. In addition, the 52-year-old logistics coordinator sometimes has to provide support for other projects - in which case he is of course happy to help. Bruno likes this variety best about his work. Every day he faces new challenges and works closely with his team from Back Office and Logistics Operations.
Of course there are daily routines, but basically every day is different and full of new challenges.”
Learning in practice
New colleagues get to know the entire warehouse team in the first few days and initially receive all the important information for a successful start. However, the focus is also on getting to know the processes and tasks. "Above all, a new employee must be kind, the rest he learns from me," says Bruno with a smile.
Bruno's biggest projects so far have been the implementation and start-up of our healthcare clients & logistics operations from the scratch and managing the growth of various e-commerce activities from the consumer products industry. At Arvato, he has learned how to face such challenges and solve them together with his team.
He advises applicants and interested parties to be flexible and courageous in taking on new projects and tasks.
