Think globally, act locally
For us, entrepreneurial success is measured not only by key economic figures, but also by how sustainably and responsibly we act. We see ourselves as a part of and partner to the society in which we live. That's why we take responsibility - toward our employees, society and in our dealings with the environment.
"We are part of our customers' value chain - we operate warehouses, pack customer materials and organize transport services. So with our logistics services, we leave a significant footprint, especially in terms of CO² emissions. But it's not just the environment that's important to us - promoting an ethical corporate culture that is in line with the basic values and principles of the Bertelsmann Essentials and the Bertelsmann Code of Conduct is just as high a priority. Fair working conditions, diversity and further training of our employees also play an important role," explains Andreas Barth, Group Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions.
The Corporate Responsibility Council
At Arvato Supply Chain Solutions, Corporate Responsibility (CR) is becoming a fundamental part of how we make business and how we interact with the wider society.
It is all about the impacts of our business activities on our employees, the society and the environment – and about our responsibility along the entire value chain.
The Arvato Supply Chain Solutions Corporate Responsibility Council takes reasonable and manageable steps to cover the most relevant CR topics and provide a structured and conceptional approach across all business units.
"Every individual, every company and every country has an obligation and must contribute to limiting global warming as much as possible."
Andreas Barth is Group Head of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility. In this interview, he explains what strategy Arvato Supply Chain Solutions is pursuing in the area of corporate responsibility and what concrete measures have already been taken.
